Summary in English
Genetic diversity is an essential resource for plant breeding. Reports from crop germplasm explorations conducted during the last 30 years in Slovakia, Poland, and Romania and to a lesser extent in Ukraine identified the Carpathian Mountains as being particularly rich in pulse crop diversity. Ongoing socio-economic changes in the Ukraine may put the existing on-farm diversity of crop plants at high risk of extinction.
