Summary in English
The developmental stage at which forage crops are harvested greatly affects their yield, nutritive value, and persistence. Throughout their growth, plants use energy from the sun, carbon dioxide from the air and water to synthesize carbohydrates via photosynthesis. The carbohydrates produced allow plants to grow, increasing their yield.
