The growth of horticultural trade between Canada and the United States since the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was implemented in 1994 has been explosive. In 2002, it reached a total value of $4.1 billion : the United States exported $2.3 billion in horticultural products to Canada, while $1.8 billion worth of Canadian horticultural products were exported to the U.S. market.
