Summary in English
Technical Bulletin No. 50
This bulletin presents a key for the identification of one hundred and two native and naturalized grasses occurring in pastures and meadows in the Prairie Provinces. Characters of the vegetative parts such as sheath, collar, auricles, ligule and leaf-blade are used for their separation. Diagramation drawings, not made to scale, but drawn to emphasize structural characteristics, together with detailed descriptions of these parts are presented for each species. Certain information is presented concerning growth characteristics, the underground portions of the plant and habitat conditions. An index to botanical and common names is given.
